Mars Introduces Skittles Littles for Convenient Snacking

Global confectionery giant Mars has just made a sweet announcement that will delight candy enthusiasts everywhere. They’ve introduced “Skittles Littles,” a compact version of the iconic rainbow-colored candy. Available in 7.2-ounce bags or convenient poppable tubes, this new format is designed for easy, on-the-go enjoyment.

Ruonan Cheng, the Marketing Director at Mars, expressed their excitement, stating, “Expanding our portfolio with SKITTLES Littles allows us to create even more pleasantly perplexing experiences and inspire moments of everyday happiness for fans.”

Skittles Littles will first hit select stores this month, offering a sneak peek to eager consumers before its broader release in 2024. Mars is no stranger to the concept of downsizing candy, as they’ve previously succeeded with bite-sized circular candy staples like Mini M&Ms, which made their debut in 1997.

In recent years, there’s been a noticeable trend among consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies to introduce miniature versions of well-loved products. In 2022, Frito-Lay rolled out “Minis,” featuring smaller versions of popular snacks like Doritos, Cheetos, and Sun Chips, all conveniently packaged in a Pringles-esque tin.

General Mills also joined the downsizing trend, unveiling miniature versions of three of their most beloved cereals: Trix, Reese’s Puffs, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Not to be outdone, the freezer aisle saw Blue Bunny’s introduction of “Mini Bars” and “Mini Swirls” in 2023, offering scaled-down versions of their classic ice cream treats.

Mars’ Skittles Littles promises a compact burst of fruity flavor, making it a convenient and enjoyable treat for candy lovers on the move. Stay tuned for the candy’s official release, and get ready to taste the rainbow in a whole new way.
