one8 Commune Bangalore’s Commune Collective is back again with The First Bar Takeover by Wine In Progress (WIP) with Tapas by Chef Karan Upmanyu. For one exclusive evening, WIP will bring their wine experience to life at one8 Commune, offering a night of bold and inventive flavours. Acclaimed independent Chef Karan takes centre stage with a special tapas menu, blending his iconic OG dishes from the WIP menu with exciting new creations crafted exclusively for this extraordinary collaboration.

Ganga Ghale, WIP’s bar manager, is bringing something seriously special to the table—a collection of 6 rare and distinctive wines offering guests the opportunity to delve into the world of unspoken grape varietals, appealing to both seasoned wine enthusiasts and curious newcomers.

Adding to the magic, WIP’s wine-tender Nigil Wilson is shaking things up with two signature wine cocktails—bold, creative, and full of personality. It’s an evening of unexpected pairings, rare finds, and boundary-pushing flavours, perfect for anyone ready to sip and swirl.

One of the key products is One8 commune, an everyday bar co-owned by Indian Cricketer Virat Kohli. It currently has a presence in five cities, and by the end of 2024, it aims to have 20 outposts across India.

The menu is crafted to pair perfectly with the wines and cocktails, featuring some truly exciting bites. There’s the Disco Pumpkin Mochi (V)—a playful, chewy tapas with just the right balance of sweetness and spice, made for those who like their food with an adventurous palate. For seafood lovers, the Baby Octopus Tempura (SF) brings crispy golden perfection, with tender octopus and subtle global-inspired seasoning in every bite. And then there’s the Boquerones en Vinagre—a fresh take on the Spanish classic, with zesty, tangy anchovies marinated in vinegar and olive oil, reimagined for a burst of modern flavour.

It’s bold, it’s fun, and it’s a menu that you will want to come back for more. This collaboration between one8 Commune Bangalore, Wine in Progress, and Chef Karan Upmanyu is where creativity meets bold flavours. This one-of-a-kind evening invites you to explore rare wines, inventive cocktails, and a tapas menu —promising an experience that’s anything but ordinary.
