Ananta Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Rupam Das as the new Chief Operations Officer (COO) for Ananta Global Hotels. Bringing nearly three decades of extensive leadership experience across operations, acquisitions, and business development in India’s premier hospitality groups, Das is set to spearhead Ananta’s next phase of aggressive, growth-focused evolution.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Mandate
In his new role, Das will be responsible for overseeing operations across Ananta’s expanding portfolio and, critically, leading strategic global expansion initiatives. This expansion will cover the group’s four core verticals: eco-luxury resorts, wildlife lodges, wellness sanctuaries, culturally immersive retreats, and business hotels in Tier-I, Tier-II, and Tier-III cities.
The most significant mandate under Ananta’s ambitious growth roadmap is to helm the brand’s ambition to launch 50 new properties globally over the next five years. He will work closely with the brand’s investors and promoters to ensure shared value and strategic engagement throughout this global expansion.
On his appointment, Das stated his primary focus would be: “On establishing scalable operational frameworks, entering high-potential markets, and cultivating long-term strategic alliances that uphold Ananta’s service standards and sustainability ethos. Together with our promoters and dedicated professional team, we will build a global footprint anchored in Indian hospitality excellence.”
Professional Background and Expertise
Prior to joining Ananta, Das served as the Senior Director of Business Development at The Clarks Hotels & Resorts for nearly fifteen years, where he successfully managed a portfolio of over 100 hotels across India and South East Asia.
His earlier leadership roles at prominent groups, including ITC Hotels, Cambay Group, and Panoramic Resorts, have endowed him with deep expertise in crucial areas such as pre-openings, hotel turnarounds, deal structuring, and revenue optimization, all while maintaining a strong guest-centric approach. His appointment is expected to provide the strategic and operational foundation necessary for Ananta Hotels & Resorts to achieve its ambitious global growth targets.
