In collaboration with Bahri Hospitality and Cuisines Pvt Ltd, part of the Bahri Group, Délifrance is set to make its debut in India with the opening of its first outlet in South Delhi’s Defence Colony. As the exclusive master franchisee for Délifrance across India, Bahri Hospitality will introduce three formats: Bistro, Bakery and Coffee Shop, and Express Delivery outlets, with plans to expand and offer specially curated hampers blending French bakery classics with local flavors.
Scheduled to launch its website in December, Délifrance aims to engage consumers in meaningful ways. The venture plans to import French classics bakery goods from Délifrance, while a central production unit in Delhi will produce additional local bakes, maintaining French bakery techniques and quality ingredients.
Hemant Bahri, Founder and MD of the Bahri Group, expressed excitement about the alliance, emphasizing the immense potential in the bakery segment. The partnership with Délifrance aligns with the goal of bringing authentic French bakery delicacies to the Indian subcontinent through various channels.
Fabrice Herlax, International Marketing and Concept Strategy Director for Franchise and Branded Solutions at Délifrance views the entry into the Indian subcontinent as a thrilling challenge, leveraging the brand’s 100-year legacy in milling and French bakery expertise to adapt to local tastes.
Délifrance has ambitious expansion plans, aiming to open five more outlets in Delhi/NCR by the end of the financial year 2023-24 and targeting 25 to 30 outlets across India in various formats over the next five years. The parent company, Grands Moulins de Paris, established in 1919 in Paris and owned by the French farmers’ agro-industrial cooperative VIVESCIA, has operated globally with over 200 outlets under the Délifrance brand for the past 40 years.
