Renowned South Indian biryani chain Dindigul Thalappakatti has opened its largest outlet in Kerala, located in Changampuzha Nagar, Kalamassery, Kochi. This marks the brand’s third location in Kochi and fifth across the state. The spacious new restaurant can accommodate up to 122 guests and will be open daily from 11 AM to 11 PM.
The launch is part of the brand’s strategic expansion across southern India. The outlet was inaugurated by actress Priya Prakash Varrier, underscoring the brand’s focus on increasing consumer visibility and strengthening local engagement. Nagasamy Dhanabalan, Managing Director of Dindigul Thalappakatti, shared, “Our mission is to serve authentic, healthy, and high-quality biryani and South Indian cuisine to food enthusiasts.” He also revealed plans to open five additional outlets in Kerala within the year.
The Kalamassery outlet features a full menu of the chain’s signature dishes, including the popular Thalappakatti Boneless Mutton Biryani, Unlimited Andhra Meals, Chicken 65 Biryani, Black Pepper Chicken, Fish 65, Mutton Sukka, Egg Biryani, and Paneer Biryani.
Founded in 1957 in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, the brand has become a household name thanks to its traditional cooking techniques and unique spice blends. Dindigul Thalappakatti now operates over 100 outlets worldwide, including in the USA, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka—alongside nearly 90 locations in India across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Puducherry, and Kerala. With this latest launch in Kochi, the restaurant chain reaffirms its commitment to expanding in key markets and strengthening its presence in the quick-service and casual dining sector across South India.
