Bastian Hospitality Group has launched its most expansive project to date: Bastian Riviera, a 1.5-acre lifestyle destination set along the Morjim backwaters in Goa. This launch signifies a major shift for the brand, transforming it from a restaurant legacy into a complete lifestyle and hospitality ecosystem. The destination, referred to as “À Beira da Riviera” (Portuguese for “by the river”), redefines what Goa can feel like for the modern traveler by blending global influences with the coastal spirit.
Concept, Design, and Culinary Focus
Bastian Riviera introduces a distinct international sensibility to Goa, offering moments of escape and indulgence through its design, food, and culture.
-
Design: The architectural narrative is anchored by a pyramid-inspired structure, complemented by cabanas on private decks, water-led courtyards, circular sunbeds, and an outdoor bar that opens onto the backwaters. The environment subtly incorporates global influences from places like Egypt, Mykonos, and Dubai.
-
Culinary Focus: The culinary approach mirrors Bastian’s established strengths, but with a deeper focus on premium seafood and Goa-centric flavours.
-
Culture & Nightlife: The property intends to build a stronger nightlife and programming identity, with international artists, including Jimmy Jules and Bedouin, slated to perform.
-
Future Vision: The resort is planned for a second phase, which will include a dedicated wellness offering and full spa experience.
Ranjit Brinda, Founder and CEO, Bastian Hospitality, emphasized the personal and transformative nature of the milestone: “Goa has long been close to my heart, with many of my childhood memories and holidays rooted here… With Riviera, we wanted to honour the spirit of Goa while introducing a bold new design identity for Bastian. It is a meaningful milestone as it marks our first hotel, crafted with the care and intention that define all our spaces. My aim is to contribute to India’s tourism landscape while creating a destination that reflects both my personal connection to Goa and our broader vision for the future. As we move into our second phase with a dedicated wellness offering and full spa experience, Riviera becomes the starting point of a larger vision for leisure-led destinations under Bastian Hospitality Group.”
