The Institute of Good Manufacturing Practices India (IGMPI), a leading FSSAI-approved training partner, has announced a major expansion of its Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC) support. This initiative aims to strengthen the digital and operational infrastructure of India’s F&B sector by ensuring high standards of hygiene and regulatory compliance across the food supply chain.
Key Highlights of the Expansion
-
Targeted Training: The program is designed for food safety supervisors (FSS) who are responsible for maintaining hygiene across production, processing, packaging, storage, and transportation.
-
Diverse Course Levels: IGMPI offers three tiers of training:
-
Basic: For small-scale businesses and food handlers.
-
Advanced: Focused on manufacturing, catering, retail, and distribution.
-
Special: Tailored for high-risk sectors like milk, meat, fish, poultry, health supplements, and bakery products.
-
-
Flexible Delivery: Trainings are conducted via online, onsite (at company premises), and hybrid modes, making them accessible to businesses of all sizes, from local startups to large QSR chains.
-
Holistic Compliance: Beyond FoSTaC, IGMPI supports food businesses with certifications in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure a global standard of excellence.

Dr. Syed S. Abbas, Director, IGMPI: “The food industry is growing rapidly, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards has never been more important. FoSTaC equips organisations with trained supervisors who ensure compliance and help build trust with consumers.”

Prof. Vinod Arora, Principal Advisor, IGMPI: “As an autonomous, non-profit institute, we have the agility to align our training with real-time industry demands. This helps bridge the academia–industry gap and ensures our certifications hold strong value within regulated sectors.”
Strategic Vision
IGMPI’s vision is to foster a “culture of safety” rather than just providing a certification. By expanding FoSTaC support, the institute aims to create a wider network of accountability within organisations. This initiative supports India’s “Make in India” and “Skill India” missions by developing an industry-ready workforce capable of driving innovation and process excellence.
