Foodtech startup Levana Nourishments has developed a next-generation, clean-label nutritional shake that acts as a complete meal replacement. The 100% natural formula combines gently dehydrated, finely ground whole foods, and plant-based selections to provide a balanced, nutritious, and highly palatable meal replacement. Children and active people who travel a lot and have little time to prepare meals.
The Levana Nourishments Shake is the brainchild of Levana Kirschenbaum, CEO, and Founder of Food Experts. “Not all meal replacement shakes are created equal,” she explains Kirschenbaum. “Most of these are aimed at weight loss or sports nutrition and are not designed to fill nutritional gaps or provide the nutritional value of whole grains that many consumers desperately need. Additionally, many meal replacement shakes are high in sugar and contain ingredients that are not suitable for a fully integrated diet. May contain nutritional additives.
Levana’s portfolio of plant-based nutrition shakes is sugar-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free. It’s also non-GMO, NFC-certified natural, and kosher-certified. Levana Nutrition Shakes come in three delicious flavors.
It is vanilla bean, mixed berry and cacao coffee and is available on a private label basis for B2B’s nutritional supplements and functional food divisions.
Kirschenbaum’s husband’s cancer challenges spurred her to develop powdered complete meal replacements to feed him during chemotherapy. Anorexia and intolerance of most foods, including all standard facility meal replacement products, caused devastating weight loss.
The author of four cookbooks and owner of Lincoln Center’s popular Levana restaurant, he was put off by the high sugar content and non-nutritive ingredients found in many commercial and institutional meal replacement products. Kirshenbaum has used its extensive experience in the health food industry to create a range of concentrated nutritional shake powders based on pure, simple, and most importantly well-known botanical ingredients.
