Shoyu, the popular cloud kitchen brand originally based in Hyderabad, has officially launched its operations in Bengaluru, with its first outlet now open in the bustling hub of HSR Layout. The brand arrives with a clear mission to democratize premium Pan-Asian delivery, aiming to offer restaurant-quality dishes that are accessible to all, straight out of the box, without compromising on quality or soul. The concept is built around serving modern Asian flavors that are reimagined with both elegance and ease, reflecting how the name “Shoyu,” which brings depth to Japanese cuisine, also seeks to bring soul to Bengaluru’s delivery scene.
What truly distinguishes Shoyu is its unwavering dedication to ensuring a restaurant-quality dining experience at home. The preparation involves hand-picked ingredients and a focus on rich flavor profiles that celebrate the culinary narratives of Asia’s many cultures. Recognizing that convenience is paramount in the fast-paced rhythm of Bengaluru, Shoyu has invested significantly in a key element of its delivery-first approach: thoughtfully designed, eco-friendly packaging.
This custom packaging is specifically engineered to preserve the temperature, texture, and taste of every dish, ensuring it arrives “just right,” irrespective of the journey length or traffic delays. Co-founder Varun Tripuraneni emphasized the necessity of this investment, stating, “Asian food is best experienced when the integrity and texture is retained — a sushi roll that is falling apart or dim sum that has turned soggy just doesn’t deliver the same experience.” He also highlighted that the packaging is “almost completely sustainable and designed for convenience,” allowing customers to eat straight from the box while appreciating that the food is free from any plastic packaging contamination, making it a safe choice for consumers.
Co-founder Naga Chaitanya expressed excitement about the expansion, noting that the team had been waiting for the right moment and feels that Bangalore is the “perfect next chapter for Shoyu,” viewing it as a city that “truly knows good food and appreciates bold flavours.”
He is confident that Shoyu’s flavor-packed dishes will fit right in with the city’s vibrancy and that the energy of Bengaluru mirrors what the ‘Shoyu factor’ is all about. This ‘Shoyu Factor’ is rooted in delivering flavors that “truly sing,” seamlessly blending authentic Asian elements with a modern approach to technique and packaging, resulting in the “perfect bite” characterized by loud spices, subtle umami, and textural perfection. The brand’s success is supported by its metrics, boasting over 73,000 customers and an impressive 80 percent repeat rate in its existing market. Following the successful launch in HSR Layout, Bengaluru’s startup hub, the brand already has plans for rapid expansion, with a second outlet soon to open in Indiranagar.
