Sterling Holiday Resorts, a prominent name in experiential holidays, has significantly enhanced its ‘Discoveries & Experiences’ (D&E) portfolio with the launch of “Soil to Soul” at Sterling Wayanad. Located amidst the lush spice and coffee plantations of Kerala, this new half-day program is an immersive Farm-to-Fork journey designed to connect guests with local culture, sustainable tourism, and authentic culinary traditions.
The “Soil to Soul” experience provides guests with a hands-on exploration of Wayanad’s rich agricultural heritage. The journey begins with a visit to local organic farms and spice plantations, where participants interact directly with local farmers. Guests learn about the processes of paddy cultivation, as well as coffee and spice farming, and actively participate in harvesting fresh produce. This direct engagement offers a firsthand understanding of the land and its people.
The experience culminates in a collaborative, hands-on cooking session led by Sterling’s expert chefs. Using the ingredients they just harvested, guests prepare traditional Kerala dishes utilizing time-honoured methods, completing the farm-to-table cycle.
Adding a rich layer of cultural authenticity, guests also have the opportunity to interact with indigenous Wayanad communities, whose unique stories and food traditions deepen the experience. As a lasting memory, visitors are given handcrafted spice packs and recipe cards to take home, extending their connection to Kerala’s food culture beyond their stay.
Harinath Mohanasundaram, Senior Vice President – Marketing, Sterling Holiday Resorts, stated, “With ‘Soil to Soul,’ we want our guests to go beyond the conventional holiday—to connect with the land, people, and stories that make Wayanad special. It’s a celebration of food, culture, and sustainability, and a meaningful addition to our growing D&E portfolio.”
The resort’s broader Discoveries & Experiences platform is dedicated to offering locally rooted engagements. Other popular activities at Sterling Wayanad include guided nature walks, bird-watching trails, and a collaboration with Uravu, a local NGO focused on promoting bamboo craftsmanship and tribal livelihoods. Through “Soil to Soul” and similar D&E initiatives, Sterling Holiday Resorts is reinforcing its commitment to meaningful, sustainable, and truly experiential travel in India.
