Nanna’s Negroni opens its doors in Pune with the charming space which blends the heart of European culinary traditions.
The Nanna’s Negroni concept, created by Chef Ambar Rode, combines warmth, mischief, and a homey cozy feeling. “Nanna” evokes the warm embrace of an Italian grandmother, while “Negroni” honors expertly made cocktails that are both playful and sophisticated. The name itself speaks to its essence.
Enter this peaceful haven of 2,600 square feet, where every element is intended to take you to Europe. Vertical tufting and dark green leather booths beckon you to stay, and polished wooden tables with marble tops offer a subtle elegance. A golden glow reminiscent of a late afternoon in a charming Italian café is cast by warm, ambient lighting, while chairs with cane backs pay homage to traditional European design.
Commenting on the launch, Chef Ambar Rode, Founder, Nanna Negroni said, “Cooking is storytelling—every dish carries a memory, a place, a feeling. At Nanna’s Negroni, we bring those stories to life with simplicity, patience, and heart, just like Nanna would have wanted. Every plate is crafted with the same love and care you’d find in an Italian grandmother’s kitchen—honest, comforting, and full of little surprises. Because food should feel like a warm embrace, turning shared meals into unforgettable moments.”
Its Neapolitan heritage and European comfort cooking serve as inspiration for each meal, which is prepared to adherence the tradition. Every taste of the hand-rolled pasta produced fresh every day with semolina, “00” flour, and eggs, or the cold-fermented pizza dough that has been properly risen to attain the ideal lightness, demonstrates the careful attention to detail. Duck breast is dry-aged for seven days, hog belly is cured in rock salt for eighteen hours, and kingfish is cured with Negroni. Everything is cooked in-house, including the bread, sauces, and garnishes for the cocktails.
The cocktail menu is a lively tribute to European customs, full of charm, culture, and a dash of humor. It is divided into two portions, “Love, Nanna” and “Nanna & Negroni,” which honor classic ingredients and memories.
