Rahul Gonuguntla, the visionary behind the acclaimed Paradise Biryani Pointe, has unveiled a new carry-out-only outpost in downtown Cleveland. Aptly named “Paradise Biryani Pointe Express,” this culinary gem has found a home within the Carnegie Food Hub, a ghost kitchen that first opened its doors in 2021. If the response is as brisk as expected, it could mark the beginning of a more permanent presence in the heart of downtown Cleveland.
Mr. Gonuguntla, the brain behind this culinary masterpiece, initially embarked on his culinary journey in 2017 when he opened Paradise Biryani Pointe in Gates Mills. Driven by a passion for sharing the authentic tastes of his homeland, he sought to introduce the diverse and rich flavors of India to his new neighbors in the United States. His restaurant swiftly garnered a devoted following, which led to the expansion of the Paradise Biryani Pointe brand to Parma in 2020 and most recently to Aurora.
Paradise Biryani Pointe Express promises to deliver a true taste of India, with its signature dish being the renowned biryani, a staple in Hyderabad, India, which is Mr. Gonuguntla’s hometown. While technically rooted in South Indian cuisine, this outpost offers a fusion of diverse Indian culinary traditions.
Diners can indulge in a wide array of offerings, including delectable vegetarian dishes such as aloo gobi and bindhi masala, as well as enticing non-vegetarian options like chicken 65 and shrimp curry. However, the star of the show remains the Hyderabad-style biryani, available with chicken, goat, seafood, or vegetables. This exciting addition to downtown Cleveland’s culinary scene brings the vibrant and multifaceted flavors of Indian cuisine to a new audience.
