Bengaluru: CCL Products (India) Ltd. has officially launched the renowned UK-based coffee brand Percol in India, following its strategic acquisition of the brand in 2023. The announcement was made through a press release on Monday.

Before acquiring Percol, CCL had been instrumental in developing the brand’s instant coffee blends for the UK market. Recognizing the strong alignment and deep familiarity with the brand’s values and offerings, CCL seized the opportunity to purchase Percol when it became available for sale. This move supports CCL’s broader vision of transforming Percol into a global brand, with India being the latest market in its expansion. Established in 1987 by Brian Chapman, Percol was the first coffee brand in the UK to receive Fairtrade certification, making it a pioneer in ethical sourcing.

Percol’s launch in India arrives at a time when discerning urban consumers are increasingly seeking high-quality coffee with clear origins and elegant packaging. Responding to these preferences, CCL has introduced three premium freeze-dried instant coffee variants — Intenzo, Da Essenza, and Espresso Noir. These blends are crafted using carefully selected beans from regions including Colombia and Vietnam.

“The Indian coffee market is undergoing a transformation, with a growing demand for refined flavors and authentic brand narratives,” said Praveen Jaipuriar, CEO of CCL Products (India) Ltd. “Percol is more than just a premium coffee; it embodies a philosophy that aligns with the tastes of today’s informed and quality-conscious consumers.” Percol’s range of instant coffees is now available on leading e-commerce platforms and select supermarkets across India, with an initial focus on Tier-1 cities in North and West India.
