In the lively city of Bangalore, a new culinary gem is transforming the city’s dining experience. Phurr, a standout gourmet vegetarian restaurant, is winning hearts and making a name for itself across town. This unique dining destination is more than just a restaurant; it’s a celebration of passion, resilience, and the unyielding pursuit of culinary excellence. Phurr was born from the dreams of two brothers, Aashish Lunawat and Rahul Lunawat, and their childhood friend Noor Malik—a trio united by their love for food and an unwavering belief in the extraordinary potential of vegetarian cuisine.
The journey to Phurr was anything but ordinary. With little more than ambition and a dash of creativity, the founders started with dreams far bigger than their pockets. Their entrepreneurial journey had its share of hurdles—most notably, the closure of their fashion venture, a casualty of the digital age. But as they say, every setback is a setup for a comeback. It was during countless brainstorming sessions at Bangalore’s beloved Airlines Hotel, fueled by endless cups of coffee, that the seed for a revolutionary vegetarian restaurant was planted. The trio’s first venture, “The Bangalore Cafe,” became an instant success, thanks to the unrelenting support of family and friends. When the pandemic hit, however, they were forced to pivot once again. After much introspection, the idea for Phurr was conceived—a modern vegetarian dining experience inspired by the spirit of resilience, much like the Shah Rukh Khan song that gave it its name.
Nestled in Jayanagar, Phurr is a destination for food lovers, a place where vegetarian cuisine is elevated to an art form. Designed by a leading architectural firm from Mumbai, Phurr’s interior is as innovative as its menu—a feast for the senses that invites guests to linger and savor every moment. Here, dining is not just about food; it’s about creating an unforgettable experience. The menu is a carefully curated journey that caters to diverse palates, with vegan and Jain options thoughtfully included. Under the culinary leadership of Chef Sombhir, each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with precision and passion. The innovative mocktail menu, designed by mixologist Avinash Kapoli, perfectly complements the culinary offerings, making every visit to Phurr a gastronomic adventure. Signature dishes like the Phurr Biryani Nuggets, Ratatouille Gujiya, and the exquisite Phurrrr (Lucknow Malaiyo) have quickly become local legends, drawing food enthusiasts from across the city.
“Our goal was to create a space where people could experience the full spectrum of vegetarian cuisine without ever feeling like they were missing out. We wanted to redefine what vegetarian dining could be—exciting, innovative, and utterly satisfying,” shares Rahul Lunawat, one of Phurr’s visionary founders.
In just eight months since opening its doors, Phurr has established itself as one of Bangalore’s most sought-after dining destinations. With reservations booked months in advance, Phurr is not just keeping up with the city’s culinary pulse—it’s setting the rhythm. As it continues to innovate and inspire, Phurr is poised to become a beacon of vegetarian fine dining, where every meal is a celebration of flavor, creativity, and the sheer joy of good food.
Whether you’re a devoted vegetarian or simply a lover of exceptional cuisine, Phurr promises an experience that will leave you inspired, delighted, and eager to return.
