Italia, nestled within The Park Hotel, is poised to introduce India to Venice’s iconic Cicchetti bar concept. Since its establishment in 2002, Italia has been a hallmark of Italian cuisine in Bangalore. With its reimagined persona inspired by Venice’s Cicchetti bars, the restaurant now promises a feast that delights both the eyes and the palate. The warm and inviting space features vibrant orange hues, creating a cozy and intimate relaxing atmosphere perfectly.

The Birth of Cicchetti: Born out of the Venetian tradition of not drinking on an empty stomach, Cicchetti was created as small plates of food to accompany wine. Simple morsels like boiled octopus or hard-boiled eggs with anchovies were the initial offerings, served in bàcari, or bars, that evolved to celebrate the joy of good food. In Rialto’s bustling trading hub, merchants would grab Cicchetti and a glass of ombra (a glass of wine), a type of finger food to get through their busy days. This centuries-old tradition has been reimagined at Italia, where you can experience the authentic flavors and spirit of Venice. From humble beginnings to a beloved culinary staple, Cicchetti is now ready to be savored in India.

 Mixing Art with Every Sip: Italia’s cocktail menu brings art to life, drawing inspiration from Italy’s rich tapestry of art, cinema, and culture. It pays tribute to Italy’s legendary artists like Charlemagne Palestine, whose avant-garde compositions are layered and bold, and Antonio Riccardi, the Milanese poet known for his depth and contrasts. There’s also a nod to the timeless charm of Italian cinema with Silvana Mangano, and the fearless, unapologetic spirit of Anna Magnani, an icon of the silver screen. Rounding it off is a celebration of modern artistry with Massimo De Carlo, a figure synonymous with contemporary innovation and creativity.

Spritz Studio: Italia’s bar menu celebrates the timeless charm of spritz cocktails and the center stage they hold in Italy’s bar culture. The menu includes the Grapefruit & Limon Cello Spritz blending homemade grapefruit bitters with limoncello and Prosecco; the Cucumber & Mint Spritz, a crisp mix of vodka, Prosecco, fresh cucumber, and mint; and the Cold Brew Spritz pairing the boldness of cold brew with the bittersweet notes of Campari and Prosecco.

A Symphony of Flavours: The culinary team at Italia has crafted a menu that pays homage to Italy’s rich culinary heritage while embracing modern sensibilities. Guests can indulge in an assortment of bruschetta, such as the classic Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil combination or the luxurious Smoked Salmon with Mascarpone and Capers. For lovers of hearty fare, the menu features a variety of handmade pasta and risotto dishes, including Risotto Milanese al Tartufo, a saffron-infused delicacy, and Pappardelle con Crema di Funghi Porcini, a sumptuous blend of porcini mushrooms and parmesan.
