PizzaExpress, the esteemed gourmet pizza chain, has recently inaugurated a new branch in Hyderabad, generating much anticipation among locals. Ramit Bharti Mittal, Chairman of GIPL, expressed enthusiasm about introducing PizzaExpress to the people of Hyderabad. He emphasized that PizzaExpress stands out from typical casual dining establishments by offering a truly satisfying experience for pizza aficionados, along with a contemporary yet laid-back café and pizzeria ambiance, perfect for socializing with friends, family, and colleagues.
PizzaExpress has gained renown for its meticulously crafted gourmet pizzas, prepared with the finest ingredients. The menu features two distinct pizza bases: the “Classic” base, known as the 1965 Original Traditional Pizza, and the thin and crispy “Romana” base, inspired by the pizzas found in Rome. Complementing the pizzas, customers can indulge in a diverse selection of pasta, appetizers, delectable cheesecakes available in six delightful flavors, and an assortment of other tempting desserts. To complete the experience, PizzaExpress offers fresh Italian coffee that adds a special touch to every meal.
Among PizzaExpress’ specialty offerings are its signature Dough balls, served with a trio of delectable dips, and unique pizza creations such as the Calabrese—a rectangular pizza invented by a Michelin-starred chef—the Leggera, a pizza under 600 calories, and the Calzone, a folded pizza. Whether dining in, opting for delivery, or choosing takeaway, customers can enjoy all of PizzaExpress’ delectable products through various channels.
The story of PizzaExpress began in 1965 when founder Peter Boizot opened the first PizzaExpress establishment on London’s Wardour Street after being inspired by a trip to Italy. Today, with over 400 restaurants worldwide, PizzaExpress has become a global symbol of exceptional handcrafted gourmet pizzas.
In India, PizzaExpress was introduced by Gourmet Investments Private Limited (GIPL), the food and beverage venture of the Bharti Family office. The first PizzaExpress restaurant opened its doors in Colaba, Mumbai, in 2012, and since then, the brand has expanded to include 18 restaurants across six cities in the country.
Excitingly, GIPL has ambitious plans for PizzaExpress in India, with a goal of establishing over 100 stores in the upcoming years. The Hyderabad branch adds to the growing list of PizzaExpress locations, allowing pizza enthusiasts in the city to relish the delectable handcrafted pizzas and other offerings that have made PizzaExpress a beloved choice for discerning diners.
