A fulfilling meal for just 10 rupees: In today’s times, when even a cup of tea costs 12 rupees, this restaurant provides a quality lunch for just Rs. 10. It is noteworthy that delicious vegetable biryani, worth approximately 50 rupees, is offered at this affordable price for the poor and needy.
Continuing charitable work: This restaurant operates at the entrance of the Karthi People’s Welfare Association’s head office in Valasaravakkam, Chennai.
- Time: Monday to Saturday, 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
- Beneficiaries: On average, 120 to 150 people eat here daily.
- Total number: So far, more than 1.5 lakh people have benefited from this restaurant.

Auto drivers, daily wage laborers, sanitation workers, and food delivery partners are among the many who eat at this restaurant without any discrimination. Following actor Karthi’s guidance to alleviate people’s hunger without any profit motive, his fans are successfully running this initiative.
This service, which started on a small scale during the COVID-19 pandemic, has now crossed 1000 days and transformed into a people’s movement. This restaurant stands as a testament to the saying, “Happiness doubles when shared.”
