Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, a hotel franchising company with 25 renowned brands and a portfolio of approximately 9,200 hotels, has announced the appointment of Rahool Macarius as Market Managing Director for Eurasia. This strategic move highlights Wyndham’s commitment to expanding its footprint in one of the fastest-growing hospitality markets, with India’s industry alone projected to surpass $281 billion by 2025.
Roles and responsibility
Rahool Macarius will oversee operations and lead the growth of Wyndham’s diverse brand portfolio across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and the Maldives. This appointment marks Rahool’s return to Wyndham, where he previously served as Director of Commercial for the region. With over 25 years of experience in financial management, operations, and stakeholder relations, Rahool brings expertise honed through leadership roles in some of the world’s leading hotel groups.

Wyndham plans to expand its presence in the country
Currently operating over 60 hotels in India, Wyndham plans to expand its presence in the country by 25% within the next 18 months. In his new role, Rahool will focus on strengthening market penetration and spearheading the development of new properties, ensuring Wyndham’s leadership position in India and the broader Eurasia region.
