Nasi and Mee Whitefield: New Outlet at Nexus Shantiniketan Marks 10 Years

Popular Pan-Asian brand Nasi and Mee has made a grand return to Whitefield, Bengaluru, with a new flagship outlet at Nexus Shantiniketan Mall. This opening is a double celebration: it marks the brand’s 10th restaurant in India and commemorates a decade-long journey since its inception in 2015. After a six-year hiatus from the neighborhood, the brand returns with its first-ever outdoor dining concept and a design inspired by the bustling hawker centers of Southeast Asia.

Design & Atmosphere: A Hawker-Inspired Walkthrough

The new Whitefield outlet is a visual tribute to the street markets of Bangkok, Singapore, and Hanoi.

  • First Outdoor Space: For the first time in its 10-year history, Nasi and Mee introduces an outdoor dining area, blending tropical foliage with rattan furniture for a breezy, alfresco feel.

  • Artistic Murals: Inside, the space is anchored by three massive murals:

    • A traditional Chinese shophouse with boiling noodle vats.

    • A hidden hawker stall tucked in a narrow alley.

    • A heartwarming scene of a vendor serving noodles from a familiar counter.

  • Expanding Horizons: Clever use of mirrors and “winding walkways” in the design create an illusion of the sprawling, chaotic-yet-organized charm of Asian food alleys.

The Menu: ‘Simply Sedap’ (Simply Delicious)

To celebrate the milestone, the restaurant is highlighting its legacy of authentic Southeast Asian comfort food:

  • Signature Staples: Authentic Nasi Goreng, Mee Goreng, and the cult-favorite Xiao Long Bao (Soup Dumplings).

  • Limited-Time Menu: Introducing the ‘Simply Sedap’ menu, curated specifically to celebrate 10 years of favorites from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
