Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Ltd, has announced the acquisition of Tamil Nadu-based Southern Health Foods Private Ltd. The deal brings the popular health food brand Manna under the Reliance umbrella, significantly strengthening RCPL’s presence in the nutritious and millet-based packaged foods segment.
Southern Health Foods has been a prominent player for over two decades, offering a diverse range of products including millets, oats, multi-grain health mixes, breakfast cereals, and dry fruits. The acquisition aligns with Reliance’s strategy to offer “global quality at an affordable price” while expanding its footprint in the high-growth wellness and health foods market.
The addition of Manna complements RCPL’s existing portfolio, which includes brands like Udhaiyam, Independence, and SiL. Reliance plans to leverage its extensive R&D, supply chain, and distribution network to take the Manna brand beyond its traditional Southern strongholds to a nationwide audience.

T. Krishnakumar, Director of Reliance Consumer Products, commented: “Apart from adding muscle to RCPL’s packaged foods portfolio, Manna’s addition will help us serve consumers the best nutritious foods. With our strong distribution, R&D and supply chain capabilities, Manna would be made available in other geographies – eventually making it a household name across the country.”
