Essentia Group of Hotels & Resorts, known for its diverse portfolio ranging from upscale retreats to efficient business hotels, has announced the signing of a new property in Sirsi, Karnataka. This development marks the group’s entry into the lush Malnad region, a territory famed for its dense forests, ancient temples, and cascading waterfalls, signaling a shift toward offbeat experiential tourism.
The Sirsi project will be developed as a mid-scale leisure hotel, designed to serve as a high-quality base for travelers exploring the Western Ghats. By bringing standardized hospitality to a region traditionally dominated by unorganized homestays, Essentia aims to capture the growing “road-trip” and “temple-trail” segments in Karnataka.
Project Highlights & Amenities:
-
Boutique Inventory: The property will feature 42 well-appointed rooms, blending contemporary design with local architectural influences of the Malnad region.
-
Culinary Offerings: A signature multi-cuisine restaurant will focus on authentic Malnad cuisine, alongside popular North Indian and Continental favorites, catering to both locals and tourists.
-
Events & Gatherings: The hotel will house a dedicated banquet hall, making it a preferred venue for social functions, small weddings, and corporate retreats in the Uttara Kannada district.
-
Eco-Conscious Travel: In line with the group’s sustainability goals, the property will implement rainwater harvesting and plastic-free initiatives to preserve the ecological sensitivity of the surrounding forests.
Sudeep Jain, Director, Essentia Group of Hotels, commented: “Sirsi is a hidden gem in Karnataka’s tourism map. With its proximity to the Marikamba Temple and Jog Falls, it has immense potential. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, branded stay experience that encourages travelers to explore the natural and spiritual beauty of Sirsi without compromising on modern amenities.”
The expansion into Sirsi is part of Essentia’s broader plan to reach 25 operational hotels by the end of 2026. The group is actively looking at other emerging hubs in South India, including Hampi and Coorg, to further diversify its leisure portfolio.
