The 40th edition of AAHAR – The International Food & Hospitality Fair, concluded at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, marking a historic turning point for Asia’s largest B2B event in the sector. Organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) with support from the Ministry of Food Processing Industries and leading industry bodies, the 2026 edition successfully blended four decades of legacy with a massive digital transformation.
This milestone year saw participation from over 1,600 exhibitors, including a significant international presence from over 20 countries, underscoring India’s growing influence as a global sourcing hub for food, equipment, and hospitality technology.
Key Highlights of AAHAR 2026:
-
Digital Evolution: The highlight of the event was the official transition of AAHAR into a Next-Gen B2B Platform. The newly launched ‘AAHAR Connect’ app and web portal now allow year-round networking, AI-driven business matching, and virtual product showcases, moving beyond the traditional five-day physical event format.
-
Focus on ‘Vocal for Local’: Dedicated pavilions showcased Indian GI-tagged products, millets (Shree Anna), and processed foods, facilitating multi-million dollar export MoUs between Indian MSMEs and global retail chains.
-
Sustainability & Tech: The Hospitality Technology Zone featured record participation from startups focusing on AI-driven kitchen automation, sustainable packaging, and food waste management solutions.
-
Culinary Excellence: The Culinary Art India segment saw masterclasses from Michelin-starred chefs and sessions by the Indian Culinary Forum (ICF), focusing on the integration of traditional Indian ingredients into global fine-dining menus.
The “Next-Gen” Vision Industry leaders at the event emphasized that AAHAR 2026 was not just a trade show but a “strategic ecosystem.” By integrating digital tools, the platform aims to provide small-scale food processors and regional hospitality brands with direct access to international buyers 365 days a year.
Pradeep Singh Kharola, CMD, ITPO, noted that the 40th edition reflects the “New India” spirit—where traditional hospitality meets cutting-edge technology. The shift toward a digital-first platform is expected to increase the trade volume facilitated by the event by an estimated 25% in the coming fiscal year.
