Edrington, the international premium spirits company, has announced the appointment of Paul Ross as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Edrington India. Based in Gurgaon, Ross will oversee the company’s India operations, focusing on strengthening local capabilities and building a resilient platform for long-term growth. The move highlights Edrington’s commitment to India, which has established itself as the world’s number one market by volume for Scotch whisky.
In his new role, Ross will drive the expansion of Edrington’s ultra-premium portfolio, featuring world-renowned single malts such as The Macallan and Highland Park. His appointment comes at a critical juncture following a trade agreement between the UK and India that aims to significantly reduce import duties on Scotch whisky. Ross will also serve as a senior ambassador for the brands, engaging with industry partners and stakeholders to embed the company’s distinctive values of integrity and craftsmanship.
Commenting on his appointment, Paul Ross stated: “India represents one of the most exciting premium spirits opportunities globally, driven by a new generation of consumers seeking authenticity, quality, and meaningful brand experiences. I am genuinely excited to be on the ground in India and look forward to working closely with the team to build a strong and sustainable business, rooted in integrity, craftsmanship, and bringing our exceptional single malt Scotch Whiskies to discerning consumers.”
Martin Murdoch, Edrington’s Managing Director for Middle East, Africa, and India, added: “With India established as the world’s number one market by volume for Scotch Whisky, Paul and the Edrington India team will unlock the significant potential for The Macallan and Highland Park, building a strong foundation for long-term growth.”
Ross brings extensive experience from growing Edrington’s brands across Asia Pacific, the UK, and the Americas, positioning him to lead the brand’s strategic vision in this high-potential market.
