The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a new Taj Safaris lodge in Satpura, Madhya Pradesh. This greenfield project marks the brand’s fifth wildlife retreat in the state, further consolidating IHCL’s leadership in India’s luxury eco-tourism and wildlife segment.
The upcoming Taj Safaris Satpura will be an intimate 20-key lodge spread across a sprawling 30-acre site. Strategically located just two hours from Bhopal Airport, the property is designed to offer an immersive wilderness experience in the rugged terrain of the Satpura National Park, known for its dense forests, rich biodiversity, and tranquil safari environment.
Key Highlights of the New Signing:
-
Strategic Partnership: The project is being developed in collaboration with Sarvapratham Hospitality Private Limited, led by entrepreneurs Kunal Giani, Vishal Premchandani, and Kapil Premchandani.
-
Ecological Experience: Satpura National Park is a haven for Bengal tigers, leopards, sloth bears, and Indian bison. The lodge will feature safaris led by IHCL’s specially trained naturalists, focusing on interpretive and sustainable wildlife encounters.
-
Amenities: The boutique lodge will include an all-day dining restaurant and a signature bar, providing a secluded luxury escape for high-end domestic and international travelers.
-
Portfolio Growth: With this addition, IHCL’s Taj Safaris portfolio in Madhya Pradesh now covers the state’s most iconic tiger reserves: Panna (Pashan Garh), Kanha (Banjaar Tola), Bandhavgarh (Mahua Kothi), Pench (Baghvan), and now Satpura.

Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, commented: “India offers a significant opportunity to expand the wildlife and eco-tourism segment. The signing of Taj Safaris, Satpura reflects this potential and strengthens our presence in Madhya Pradesh. We are delighted to partner with Sarvapratham Hospitality for this project, which aligns with our vision of bringing world-class luxury to India’s most pristine natural landscapes.”
The Satpura region is increasingly becoming a preferred destination for travelers seeking a quieter, more authentic jungle experience away from the more crowded central Indian circuits. The new Taj Safaris lodge is expected to set a new benchmark for luxury and conservation-led hospitality in the region.
