Bandra has welcomed a bold new addition to its upscale dining landscape with the launch of Mirai, a premium restaurant that harmonizes the minimalist elegance of Japan with the vibrant, fiery spirit of Korea. Founded by Saamir Chandnani and Rinchen Angchuk, the venue is envisioned as a “Yin and Yang affair,” where the two distinct culinary traditions act as perfect companions.
Spanning a sophisticated space on Linking Road, Mirai’s identity is centered on “live culinary theatre.” The restaurant features several interactive formats that transform dining into a multi-sensory spectacle:
-
Teppanyaki Theatre: A 10-seater live counter where chefs perform with flame and precision.
-
Omakase Experience: An intimate sushi bar offering curated, seasonal journeys led by master chefs.
-
Korean Rituals: Dedicated setups for live Korean Hotpots (Mandu Jeongol) and table-side Korean BBQ, encouraging a communal and hands-on dining style.

The menu, crafted under the guidance of consulting Chef James Biaka, bridges the gap between delicate and robust. Notable highlights include Vegan Unagi Donburi, specialized sashimi selections, and soul-warming ramen, alongside spicy Tteokbokki and premium meats for grilling. The beverage program, helmed by mixologist Vishvesh Koli, features a “Liquid Chef” approach with signature cocktails like the Gochujang Picante and a curated selection of Sake and Soju.
Designed by Mini Bhatt, the interiors reflect the philosophy of balance. Warm wooden façades, translucent rice paper layers, and a sculptural central light installation create a serene, refined environment that transitions effortlessly from a bright lunch spot to an intimate evening destination.
