Shandi Global Launches Protein-Rich Plant-Based Product ‘Chanza’ in India

Singapore-based food-tech innovator Shandi Global has officially entered the Indian market with the launch of its flagship plant-based product, Chanza.

Chanza is crafted from whole chickpeas and transformed into soft, fibrous chunks that mimic the texture of meat or paneer—without soy, gluten, or artificial binders. Versatile and nutrient-rich, it’s perfect for Indian favorites like gravies, stir-fries, and tandoori dishes.

The launch in India comes on the heels of Shandi Global’s rapid global expansion across Thailand, Canada, and Australia. The company has doubled its revenues year-on-year, growing from USD 0.6M in 2023 to USD 1.2M in 2024, and already crossing USD 2.5M in 2025. With India now in focus, Shandi Global is targeting $10M+ revenue in 2025.

India presents a unique opportunity: despite being one of the world’s most protein-deficient nations—with nearly 75% of its population falling short of daily requirements—the country is witnessing a boom in fitness culture, mindful eating, and sustainable consumption. Shandi Global aims to bridge this gap by making high-quality plant-based protein accessible, affordable, and enjoyable.

“Through our product lines, we want to make protein-rich, plant-based foods a natural part of everyday Indian diets—delicious, sustainable, and affordable,” said Dr. Gaurav Sharma, Co-founder of Shandi Global. “Our vision is simple: Protein for All, Without Compromise.”

Shandi Global will begin with B2B partnerships—supplying restaurants, corporates, and institutions—before expanding into retail channels across metro cities by 2026. Collaborations with gyms, fitness centers, and wellness communities are also on the roadmap, embedding plant-based protein into everyday Indian nutrition.

In addition to Chanza, Shandi Global’s D2C portfolio under the brands Forever, Sprouty, and Proty—already available in Singapore and Australia—includes plant-based meat, protein drinks, and protein soups. The company is also developing protein-enriched soups, supplements, snacks, cookies, and ready-to-eat meals, powered by its proprietary Canatein/Sproutin technology.

Shandi Global’s innovation has already been celebrated in India. At the Vegan India Conference 2025 in Mumbai, the company received the Protein Innovation Icon of the Year Award, presented by former MP Maneka Gandhi, with Chief Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud in attendance.

With its India launch, Shandi Global is not just entering a market—it’s fueling a movement to redefine how the nation consumes protein, ensuring every meal contributes to better health and a more sustainable planet.
