Thai Naam, one of Mumbai’s most celebrated authentic Thai dining destinations, has officially moved from its long-standing home in Andheri to a vibrant new address in Bandra West. This relocation marks a significant transformation for the brand, evolving from a traditional fine-dining space into a high-energy, contemporary sanctuary that mirrors Bandra’s cosmopolitan spirit.
Led by Chef Ananda Solomon, a legendary figure in India’s Southeast Asian culinary landscape, the new Thai Naam balances the restaurant’s storied heritage with a modern aesthetic. The move to Bandra—a district synonymous with Mumbai’s elite dining culture—is a strategic step to engage a younger, globalized demographic while retaining its loyal base of gourmands.
Key Highlights of the Bandra Relocation:
-
Modernist Interiors: The new space moves away from classical Thai decor, opting instead for a minimalist, layered design featuring warm woods, artisanal stone textures, and a soft, “golden hour” lighting scheme.
-
The “Naam” Bar: For the first time, the brand introduces a sophisticated Craft Cocktail Bar, featuring drinks infused with Thai botanicals like kaffir lime, galangal, and lemongrass, specifically curated to complement the bold, aromatic flavors of the kitchen.
-
Culinary Continuity: While the design is new, Chef Solomon’s commitment to authenticity remains. The menu continues to feature imported ingredients and traditional techniques, with signature dishes like the Tom Yum Goong, Green Curry, and Water Chestnut in Coconut Milk remaining central to the experience.
-
Bespoke Dining: The Bandra outlet offers more intimate seating arrangements, including a semi-private dining area, making it an ideal spot for both corporate lunches and high-end social dinners.

Chef Ananda Solomon shared his vision for the move: “Bandra has a restless energy and a deep appreciation for authentic craft. By bringing Thai Naam here, we aren’t just moving locations; we are evolving the experience. It’s the same soul of Thai cuisine, but told through a fresher, more contemporary lens that fits the pace of this neighborhood.”
The opening of Thai Naam in Bandra West is expected to intensify the competition in Mumbai’s premium Asian dining segment, where authenticity and ambiance are increasingly becoming the twin pillars of success.
