The Fern Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of The Fern Residency, Thekkady, located in the Idukki district of Kerala. This strategic addition further strengthens the group’s presence in South India, bringing its total portfolio of operational and upcoming properties in the region to 14.

The new hotel will feature 50 well-appointed rooms and suites designed to blend contemporary comfort with the natural tranquility of the destination. Facilities will include an all-day dining restaurant, a conference room, and two banquet halls, making it a versatile choice for leisure retreats, corporate meetings, and social celebrations.

Thekkady, known for its proximity to the Periyar National Park, remains a high-demand destination for travelers seeking immersive ecological and cultural experiences.

Suhail Kannampilly, Managing Director of The Fern Hotels & Resorts, highlighted the importance of the location: “Leisure destinations with strong ecological and experiential appeal are shaping the next phase of hospitality growth in India. Thekkady attracts discerning travellers seeking immersive experiences rooted in nature and culture, while the new property will reinforce the group’s commitment to responsible and experience-led hospitality.”

Jose Mathew, Managing Director of Maria Shopping Complex Pvt. Ltd., the property’s owning company, added: “The partnership with The Fern Hotels & Resorts is expected to deliver a compelling hospitality offering for both domestic and international travellers visiting Thekkady.”
