Citri-Fi 400 series is a new line of organic citrus fibres introduced by Fiberstar, Inc., the industry pioneer in cutting-edge citrus fibers. The desire for natural, sustainable, and organic food ingredients is growing, which has led to the development of these new citrus fibers. Consumer health and wellness activities are on the rise, the availability of hydrocolloids is constrained due to supply chain issues, and sustainable company practices are becoming more visible, all of which are market factors boosting demand.
“We are thrilled to add these new organic citrus fibers to our portfolio,” says President and CEO of Fiberstar, Inc. John Haen. “This organic product line extension taps into a new market which will garner additional sales growth for Fiberstar.”
This new Citri-Fi 400 organic series is a byproduct of the citrus juicing process, just like the classic Citri-Fi 100 series. Intact native pectin, which is composed of both soluble and insoluble fibre, has pleasing mouthfeel and water-holding and emulsifying capabilities. Due to its dual functioning, Citri-Fi 400 enhances the texture, stability, and nutritional value of many different foods and beverages at a consumption rate of less than 1%. Aside from plant-based foods like dairy substitutes and meat substitutes, these items also include bread, dairy, processed meats, dressings, sauces, and frozen foods.
The European Union and the USDA both recognize Citri-Fi 400 as an organic source. This line of recycled organic citrus fibers is E-number-free, non-GMO, and allergy-free. Labeling options include citrus fiber, dried citrus pulp, or citrus flour.
