Hilmar Cheese Company, Inc., a major cheese manufacturer in the U.S. and a global supplier of whey ingredients, has announced the launch of its new logo and brand identity. The company will now operate under the unified brand name, HilmarTM, as it strives to enhance its mission of “improving lives together” by maximizing dairy products’ nutritional and economic value.
According to David Ahlem, the President and CEO of Hilmar, the new brand identity reflects the company’s evolving role in the markets it serves. He explained that when Hilmar was established in 1984, its primary goal was to provide fair compensation to dairy farmers and deliver high-quality products. However, over the years, Hilmar has emerged as a leading global supplier with a deep commitment to the future, which is now reflected in its new look.
Ahlem emphasized that Hilmar’s core values of fairness, ethical business practices, and dedication to quality dairy products are deeply rooted in the company’s heritage. He also noted that Hilmar’s impact extends beyond its plants, as the company strives to improve the lives of everyone it touches, including consumers, customers, business partners, employees, and the communities where it operates.
The introduction of the new HilmarTM brand identity marks the integration of the company’s cheese and ingredients businesses. Ahlem explained that while Hilmar had previously established a dedicated ingredient brand in 2004, the company is now well-known for both cheese and ingredients. Therefore, they have strategically decided to consolidate their efforts under one master brand. Whether it’s cheese or ingredients, Hilmar aims to build on its heritage and explore innovative ways to utilize the power of dairy to enhance lives.
The new logo, featuring a milk droplet splitting into two products—cheese and whey ingredients—represents the company’s commitment to nature, farmland, and sustainability. Ahlem emphasized Hilmar’s dedication to being responsible stewards of the land and environment, stating that the new brand reflects their investment in technologies and processes that reduce their carbon footprint and maximize resource efficiency.
The new logo has been unveiled on the company website as of July 12, and it will be prominently showcased at the IFT FIRST: Annual Event and Expo in July 2023 and the CheeseExpo in April 2024, highlighting Hilmar’s fresh brand identity and commitment to improving lives through dairy.
