HPMF Celebrates 15 Years of Transforming Hospitality Procurement in India and Beyond

-KH News Desk (editorial1@imaws.org)

The Hospitality Purchasing Managers’ Forum (HPMF) proudly celebrates its 15th Foundation Day, marking a remarkable journey of growth, unity, and transformation within the hospitality procurement fraternity. Established in 2010, HPMF has emerged as one of the most influential and respected procurement communities, with a robust presence across India and several international chapters.

Over the past 15 years, HPMF has significantly strengthened procurement excellence through knowledge-sharing, capability development, ethical sourcing, sustainability advocacy, and supplier empowerment. The Forum has consistently worked to raise industry standards, promote collaboration, and build a unified ecosystem of hospitality professionals and supply partners.

Aligned with India’s national priorities, HPMF has actively contributed to major government initiatives, including:

  • Make in India: Encouraging members to identify, support, and procure from Indian manufacturers, thereby uplifting indigenous industries.
  • Atma Nirbhar Bharat: Empowering local suppliers and MSMEs to build self-reliance and globally competitive capabilities.
  • Skill India Mission: Advancing procurement skill development through HPMF training platforms and knowledge forums.
  • Digital India: Promoting technology-driven procurement, automation, and digital transparency within the hospitality sector.
  • Swachh Bharat & Sustainability: Championing responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and environmentally conscious practices.

HPMF’s 15-Year Legacy Includes:

1. A strong and expanding community across India, Middle East, and Asia-Pacifix
2. 12 National Conventions hosted across iconic Indian cities
3. Industry partnerships, panel discussions, training programs, and white papers
4. Consistent support for local manufacturers, startups, and MSMEs
5. Benchmarking and elevating procurement standards in the hospitality domain

HPMF Project 100 Activities in 1000 Days

As part of its long-term strategy, HPMF has initiated the ambitious “100 Activities in 1000 Days” Project, a transformative roadmap designed to create deep, long-lasting impact across the hospitality procurement ecosystem. This project will include capability-building programs, standardisation initiatives, supplier development efforts, sustainability-driven actions, digital transformation guidelines, and youth skill development.
This initiative is expected to leave a massive impact on the industry and build a strong legacy for the next generations of procurement professionals.

LEADERSHIP STATEMENTS

Mr. Mohan Deshpande, Chairman, HPMF, expressed his pride in the Forum’s journey: “HPMF’s 15 years reflect a powerful narrative of collaboration, ethics, and growth. What began as a small initiative has now become a movement that shapes the future of hospitality procurement in India. Our members are the backbone of this journey, and together we will continue to create value, promote innovation, and strengthen our industry’s commitment to excellence.”

Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Vice Chairman, HPMF, highlighted the strategic impact of the Forum: “HPMF has been instrumental in transforming procurement into a knowledge-driven, technology-enabled, and sustainability-focused discipline. Our alignment with national initiatives like Atma Nirbhar Bharat and Make in India has helped empower countless Indian suppliers. As we celebrate 15 years, we reaffirm our commitment to developing global-standard procurement professionals and contributing to India’s economic vision.”

Dr. Nitin Nagrale, Founder & General Secretary, HPMF, said:“This 15-year journey is a celebration of our collective strength. HPMF was created to unite procurement professionals, enhance industry capabilities, and bring respect and recognition to the fraternity. Today, we are proud to see how far we’ve come—supporting national initiatives, empowering local industry, and setting global benchmarks in the hospitality procurement ecosystem.”

HPMF extends heartfelt gratitude to all members, hospitality brands, supply partners, industry leaders, and well-wishers who have contributed to this inspiring journey. The Forum remains dedicated to advancing procurement excellence, fostering innovation, and building a more empowered and sustainable hospitality sector.

Here’s to 15 glorious years and many more milestones ahead!
