FHRAI To Conduct Session On Hospitality Education With Indian Government

New Delhi : To address the changing demands in the industry, and enhance tourism sector, Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India is conducting a session, an exclusive live chat with the Government of India and the United Nations World Tourism Organisation to discuss on Hospitality Education: Adapting to COVID-19’s New Normal.

The Key Speakers for this online discussion are Suman Billa (IAS), Dir, Technical Co-Operation & Silk Road Development (UNWTO) who will give the keynote address, followed by a valedictory address from Guest of Honour Mr Rakesh Kumar Verma (IAS), Jt. Sec, Ministry of Tourism (GOI).

Various topics on the challenges faced by the hospitality education are going through in the pandemic will be discussed. The key speakers will shed the light on how the employment scenario/options of last year students (Hotels, restaurants, entrepreneurship and more.) and of students from 2021 onwards will be and how they can overcome the jobs crisis.

The speakers will also advise the institutions on how they can empower students with COVID-19 protocols by re-looking at entire curriculum & proactively amending it to include COVID-19 protocols. All the classes are online. The staffs find it difficult to impart the practical knowledge to the students. The speakers would also show them possible methods of HMCT education in lockdown (Practical & theory). Finally, the speakers are expected to advise the institutions to be updated or abreast on authentic sources of information.

This live chat with various element points to the challenges the hospitality education the industry faces and would definitely be an eye-opener on how to overcome these.
