Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced a partnership with Red Sea Global (RSG), a company wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia, to introduce a luxury resort as part of The Red Sea masterplan development. The resort will be located on Shura Island, the hub of the development, and will comprise 149 rooms and suites with uninterrupted views of the 200-kilometer stretch of coastline along the western coast of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The development includes idyllic natural islands and lagoons between the cities of Umluj and Al Wajh and will feature leisure facilities, an 18-hole golf course, retail offerings and a yacht marina. The Four Seasons Resort will also include six restaurant and lounge outlets, meeting and event spaces, a marine discovery center and a Kids for All Seasons space. The Red Sea masterplan development is built with sustainable practices and tourism at its core, including renewable energy and a marine spatial planning simulation to model the environmental impact of development and operations The project is informed by environmental impact studies to minimize over-tourism while providing guests with an exceptional travel and lifestyle experience. Only a small portion of the islands will be developed with expansive dedicated conservation zones.
