Shangri-La Muscat appoints Deepak Mehta as the resort’s new CFO. Deepak joins the St Regis Maldives team. He previously served as CFO at Shangri-La New Delhi and spent nearly two decades in the hospitality industry in financial management.
Deepak Mehta exclaimed, “I am delighted to be returning to the Shangri-La Group, and in particular, to be joining the team in Muscat, which is at an exciting point in its growth. I look forward to working with the executive and finance teams to optimize the property’s systems and strategies and support the development of Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah and Shangri-La Al Husn.”
A chartered accountant by training, Deepak Mehta’s financial acumen, leadership skills and deep industry knowledge have opened doors to executive positions in some of the world’s most prestigious hotel brands, particularly in the APEC region.
The financial strategy for the 640-room and suite complex was set by Deepak, who is highly detail-oriented. Nick Flynn, the resort’s Hotel manager, added, “Deepak will be a fundamental executive member, strengthening the resort’s financial planning and analysis capacities and ensuring compliance across the board. He will facilitate revenue growth and significant improvements to costs and efficiency, resulting in enhanced financial performance that aligns with the complex’s strategic business plan.”
