With the establishment of its first dispensary in the area on Saturday, Jan. 21, international cannabis brand Cookies today announced its entry into Thailand’s cannabis industry. The opening of Cookies Thailand, which is situated in the renowned international city of Bangkok for its food, music, art, and culture, represents a significant milestone for the company as it expands into a sixth nation and opens its 58th location worldwide.
“The fact that my first time going to Asia is to open up a Cookies store is not something I could have ever imagined and really special,” said Berner, Co-Founder and CEO of Cookies. “This store is beautiful and we are grateful for our partners on the ground in Thailand who helped make this possible. Thailand is an incredibly unique place full of incredible culture and opening up a Cookies store with the support of the country of Thailand, I am grateful for. I hope Bangkok is ready for an exclusive menu of fire genetics.”
The 500-square-foot pharmacy will have a beautifully designed ambience with Thai-inspired wall paintings with a blessing from Thai Buddhist monks to commemorate the Southeast Asian nation’s diverse culture. Cookies’ renowned cultivars and goods will be for sale, together with exclusive Cookies SF clothes and accessories, including local reserve goods peculiar to Thailand, at the first dispensary in Asia with a credit card machine.
“Cookies Thailand evolved organically as my relationship with Berner has for over 20 years,” said Josh Schmidt, Vice President of Natura and Co-Founder of California edibles brand Dee Thai. “Driven by the right intention, while honoring Thai culture and ethos, Cookies Thailand brings our friendship full circle, bonding my two loves—cannabis and Thailand.”
The most well-known cannabis brand in the world is Cookies, which was established in 2010 by Bay Area breeder and cultivator Jai and Billboard-charting rapper and businessman Berner. Cookies is dedicated to developing genetics that will change the game and values the power of the plant. Over 70 proprietary cannabis cultivars and more than 2,000 products are available from the company. Through advocacy and social justice activities, Cookies also actively seeks to improve the lives of communities that have been disproportionately affected by the War on Drugs. The company, which has its headquarters in San Francisco, established its first physical site in Los Angeles in 2018 and has since grown to 58 retail locations across 18 markets in six other nations.
