Bisleri International’s Chairman, Ramesh Chauhan, has announced that his daughter, Jayanti Chauhan, will head the bottled water company following the withdrawal of Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL) from the acquisition process. Ramesh Chauhan has confirmed that he has no plans to sell his packaged water business and is not in talks with any parties regarding a sale. He also stated that his daughter will now lead the company with the professional team headed by CEO Angelo George. Jayanti Chauhan is currently the vice-chairperson at Bisleri and has been involved with the business for several years. She has been driving innovation at Bisleri and has focused on the Vedika brand, which is part of Bisleri’s portfolio, in recent years. Ms Chauhan has also been spearheading the Sales and Marketing teams, ensuring both market penetration and building brand value.
TCPL had been in negotiations with Bisleri for almost four months, but the deal did not go through. In a regulatory update, TCPL said it has not entered into any agreements over the acquisition of Bisleri. “In this regard, the company wishes to update that it has now ceased negotiations with Bisleri with regard to a potential transaction and to confirm that the company has not entered into any definitive agreement or binding commitment on this matter,” the company stated.
Ramesh Chauhan has reiterated that he has no plans to sell Bisleri and will continue to focus on growing the business. With Jayanti Chauhan now leading the company, Bisleri is expected to continue to innovate and expand its brand value in the market.
