Food Security and Drug Administration coordinates with the Hotel/Restaurant Association to implement the Hygenic rating system.
Kanpur Nagar District Magistrate Vishakh G Iyer emphasizes the importance of implementing Hygienic ratings for hotels and restaurants during a workshop on “Food Standards Save Lives.” He also urges the Food Security and Drug Administration (FSDA) to coordinate with the Hotel/Restaurant Association to coordinate in this regard. This initiative aims to provide consumers with information about food quality and complaints regarding food security standards.
Additionally, the district magistrate suggests promoting food tourism in the district by facilitating coordination between the FSDA, food traders, and entrepreneurs from various parts of the district. This collaboration would help enhance the overall food experience for tourists.
Furthermore, Iyer instructs the FSDA to raise awareness about the benefits of consuming millet and encourage their use in meals. In line with this, a testing lab is being constructed in Kanpur Nagar to facilitate the examination and testing of food samples collected by the FSDA.
The workshop is jointly organized by the FSDA Kanpur and the Indian Industries Association on the occasion of World Food Security Day. Notable attendees include BAI lab director Sandip Patil, associate professor HBTU Anurag Singh, assistant commissioner (food II) Vijay Pratap Singh, Sunil Vaishya, Naveen Khanna, and other association office-bearers.
