First Milk, a British dairy cooperative, has launched a new cooperation with Arla Foods Ingredients to develop a specialized whey protein powder at its Lake District Creamery.
Food protein enrichment is still an increasing consumer demand. Arla Foods Ingredients’ revolutionary patented microparticulate whey protein concentrate product, Nutrilac FO-7875, is used as an ingredient to increase the protein content of food and drink products while keeping texture and taste.
Arla Foods Ingredients will market and distribute Nutrilac FO-7875, which will be manufactured by First Milk utilizing the company’s unique method. Furthermore, First Milk will continue to manufacture and market whey protein concentrate powder, WPC80, through its current collaboration.
“We are happy to agree on this new relationship with Arla Foods Ingredients, which will generate genuine value for both co-operatives. We have completed a large investment program across our operations over the last few years, which means we are well-positioned to grow the range of high-quality, specialty products we can effectively make. We regard this type of partnership as critical to our success, allowing our members to be a part of the global dairy supply chain, enriching life and ensuring a bright future for all” said Shelagh Hancock, chief executive of First Milk.
Arla Foods Ingredients CEO Henrik Andersen stated “This is a new kind of cooperation for us, and a very exciting one, especially at a time when demand for high-quality protein solutions has never been greater. Manufacturing specialty whey protein products demands both expertise and a dedication to the highest standards, both of which First Milk shares. We look forward to collaborating to address the growing customer demand for protein-enriched goods”.
