An excellent dining experience will be provided by the planned restaurant, which will seat about 40 people and have an atmosphere inspired by trains.
The coach may have a kitchen facility in addition to serving cooked and processed meals, aiming to serve a high-quality meal.
With between three and four lakh travellers passing through each day, theinitiative was brought about by the insufficient number of restaurants in and near Chennai Central Railway Station.
Aiming to transform the coach into an air-conditioned restaurant where customers can have a meal before to boarding their trains, Southern Railway officials stated that it will undergo extensive transformations and repainting. The coach and the track are a part of a project that will also see the establishment of restaurants in Potheri, Perambur, and Kattankulathur.
The Chennai division issued a tender invitation and is now looking for seasoned restaurant operators through an online auction process.
