Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy virtually inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony for Oberoi Hotels and Resorts in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. The initiative stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the State government and the Oberoi Group during the Global Investors Summit held in Visakhapatnam earlier this year.
During the event held in YSR district’s Gandikota, CM Jagan expressed his excitement about the forthcoming 7-star hotel in Gandikota, which is often referred to as the Grand Canyon of India. He believes that the establishment of this luxury hotel will put Gandikota on the global tourism map. Additionally, he suggested the possibility of a golf course at Gandikota, which would create employment opportunities for 500-800 individuals and contribute to the overall development of the region.
Vikram Oberoi, the Managing Director of the Oberoi Group, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and the state machinery for their support. He also stated that the project will play a significant role in attracting more investments to the state. He further highlighted the group’s commitment to contribute to the growth of the region and the state and mentioned the potential for developing additional resorts in Andhra Pradesh.
Tourism Minister RK Roja emphasized that the Chief Minister’s proactive approach has resulted in the signing of MoUs worth ₹22,000 crore, creating job opportunities for over 4,000 individuals. She pointed out that renowned companies such as Reliance, Adani, Jindal, Oberoi, and TCS have invested in the state, which further demonstrates the success of the Chief Minister’s initiatives.
District Collectors from Tirupati and Visakhapatnam, K Venkataramana Reddy, and A Mallikharjuna, respectively, provided virtual insights into the land and facilities being provided to the Oberoi Group for the hotel construction. Mallikharjuna shared details about the luxury hotel and resort being constructed in Annavaram village, Bheemili, at an estimated cost of ₹350 crore. The project aims to create 5,500 jobs through the construction of 300 luxury villas with top-notch facilities. Its strategic location, being near the upcoming Bhogapuram International Greenfield Airport and the proposed beach corridor, adds to its appeal.
MLA Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao highlighted the recent launch of three projects in the Bheemili constituency to foster tourism growth in the region.
