Tata Starbucks Ltd. has recently opened new outlets in the emerging National Capital Region cities of Faridabad and Ghaziabad, according to a company official. Starbucks, the American coffee chain, has a collaboration with the Tata group to operate in India and has numerous stores in the Delhi NCR region. However, this is the first time Starbucks has entered Faridabad and Ghaziabad, which are both part of the NCR despite belonging to different states.
The new Starbucks store in Faridabad can be found in the city’s latest mall, Pebble Downtown, located at Bata Chowk metro station in sector 12. Udit Shah, the new business development manager at Starbucks, made the announcement on LinkedIn. Meanwhile, the Ghaziabad store is located at Shipra Mall, Vaibhav Khand in Indirapuram.
Starbucks entered the Indian market in October 2012 through a 50/50 Joint Venture with Tata Consumer Products Ltd. The brand currently operates in over 300 stores across 35 cities, including Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, Bhopal, Udaipur, Dehradun, and more. The stores are operated by the joint venture, TATA Starbucks Private Limited, and are branded as Starbucks Coffee.
The expansion into Faridabad and Ghaziabad represents a significant move for Starbucks in India, as both cities are rapidly growing and developing areas within the NCR. These new stores will provide local residents and visitors with access to the brand’s signature coffee drinks, food offerings, and merchandise.
The continued growth and expansion of Starbucks in India highlights the country’s increasing appetite for high-quality coffee and western-style coffeehouse culture. As the joint venture continues to expand its footprint in India, it will be interesting to see how Starbucks continues to adapt and evolve to meet the unique tastes and preferences of Indian consumers.
