Hilton India has achieved a remarkable milestone by being recognized as the No. 1 company to work for in India, an honor bestowed by the esteemed global research and consulting firm, ‘Great Place to Work’. This distinction holds special significance as it marks the first time a hospitality brand has received such a prestigious accolade, underscoring Hilton’s exceptional workplace culture and unwavering commitment to its team members.
The recognition by ‘Great Place to Work’ is the outcome of a rigorous assessment process conducted in 2022, involving more than 1,300 companies across India. From this pool, the top 100 companies were selected, collectively representing the experiences of over 450,000 employees. Hilton India emerged as the frontrunner, impressing the evaluators with its outstanding workplace culture and the high level of satisfaction among its employees.
The assessment process incorporated the Trust Index© Survey, which focused on employees’ perceptions of leadership, organizational culture, and trust within the company. Hilton’s team members expressed their appreciation for the company’s emphasis on diversity and equity, their trust in the leadership team, and their pride in the company’s values and vision. These factors played a pivotal role in securing Hilton India’s position as the top company to work for in the country.
Furthermore, Hilton India’s achievement extends beyond the national level. The company’s dedication to providing an exceptional work environment has also been recognized on a global scale. Great Place to Work identified Hilton as one of the World’s Best Workplaces, securing an impressive second position among the top 25 companies worldwide. Hilton remains the only hospitality brand to be included on this prestigious list.
Expressing his gratitude for this recognition, Navjit Ahluwalia, Country Head, India, Hilton states, “We are deeply honored to be recognized as the No 1 company among India’s Best Companies to Work for 2023 and the Best in the Hotels & Resorts industry. This prestigious award comes at a timely moment as we mark Hilton’s annual Team Member Appreciation Week, where we celebrate the remarkable contributions of our dedicated team. This award is attributed to them and reflects our unwavering commitment to our industry-leading practices and purpose-led culture.”
Sabu Raghavan, Vice President, Human Resources, India, Hilton, expressed immense gratitude towards the approximately 4,000 team members in India, acknowledging their embodiment of Hilton’s brand values. Raghavan emphasized that Hilton’s team members are the heart of the business, consistently going above and beyond to provide reliable and friendly experiences for guests while spreading the light and warmth of hospitality. This accolade serves as a true testament to the exceptional culture that Hilton has fostered for its team members.
To be certified as a Great Place to Work, companies must meet the minimum quantitative threshold on the Great Place to Work Trust Index™ Employee Survey. This survey collects feedback from employees on the expression of credibility, respect, fairness, camaraderie, and pride in the workplace. By meeting these requirements, companies are certified as Great Places to Work for one year.
Hilton India’s achievement in securing the No. 1 ranking underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to becoming the employer of choice for its nearly 4,000 team members in India. Guided by a purpose-driven culture, Hilton India strives to create an inclusive environment where team members can bring their authentic selves to work, realize their potential, and foster personal and professional growth.
