Keurig Dr Pepper enters the market with a new line of coffee machines, offering consumers more options for iced coffee.
Keurig Dr Pepper has made an exciting entry into the market with its debut family of coffee machines, offering consumers an expanded array of choices for creating their perfect iced coffee. Departing from previous models that provided a single brew size for iced beverages, these new devices from the Keurig K-Iced brewers lineup give users a broader range of brewing options, spanning from 8 to 12 ounces.
The Keurig K-Iced brewers collection showcases three state-of-the-art coffee makers alongside five Iced K-Cups, granting consumers the flexibility to seamlessly transition from a chilled coffee to a hot one, according to their preference. A remarkable feature of these brewers is the “brew over ice option,” intelligently designed to adjust the brew temperature automatically. It starts with a higher temperature, ensuring the extraction of the ground coffee’s full flavor, and then gradually cools down to minimize ice melt, delivering a delightful iced coffee experience.
The growing trend among millennials and Gen Z consumers to explore diverse coffee varieties and flavors have significantly contributed to the surge in the popularity of iced coffees. About 73% of individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 enjoy iced coffee on a weekly basis. Surprisingly, the beverage giant also noted that a staggering eight out of ten iced coffee beverages are consumed within the comfort of consumers’ homes. In recent years, the popularity of cold and iced coffee has continued to rise, even during the winter season. The New York Times reported that at Starbucks, cold coffee comprises 75% of drinks sold during warmer months and 60% during the winter.
Data from Skyquest reveals that the cold brew coffee segment, which reached nearly $500 million last year, is projected to skyrocket to a remarkable $3.11 billion by 2030. Recognizing this trend, Keurig Dr Pepper’s introduction of their new coffee machines aligns perfectly with the evolving demands and preferences of today’s coffee enthusiasts.
Recognizing this shift in consumer preferences, Keurig Dr Pepper is thrilled to introduce its new K-Iced line, expanding its brewer and coffee portfolio to meet the evolving needs of its customer base. With the K-Iced coffee makers, consumers can enjoy both full-flavored hot coffee and refreshing iced coffee with just a touch of a button, all from a single machine. Becky Opdyke, Senior Vice President of Coffee Marketing at Keurig Dr Pepper, expressed her excitement about the company’s ability to offer consumers the best of both worlds and cater to their changing preferences.
Keurig Dr Pepper’s parent company has experienced substantial success with the Keurig brewing system, generating sales nearing $5 billion in 2022. In February, the company reported a 6.2% increase in net sales, driven by a 7% rise in price despite a slight 0.8% decrease in volume/mix. The Keurig brewing system has now expanded its reach to 38 million households in the United States, with an impressive growth of 10 million households since 2018.
With the Keurig K-Iced brewers lineup, Keurig Dr. Pepper offers coffee lovers the opportunity to experiment with different brewing options and enjoy a refreshing cup of iced coffee tailored precisely to their taste. Whether it’s exploring the rich flavors of cold brew or opting for a hot coffee infusion, these innovative machines deliver convenience, quality, and versatility.
Thus Keurig Dr Pepper’s foray into the world of customizable iced coffee with their latest coffee machines represents a significant leap forward in meeting the demands of modern coffee enthusiasts. By providing a wider selection of brewing options and catering to the surging popularity of iced coffees, Keurig Dr Pepper solidifies its position as an industry leader, catering to the ever-evolving preferences of consumers seeking delightful coffee experiences.
