On 18th July, Hyderabad, the Bonalu Festival took off with flying colours and joy. The festival is majorly celebrated in Hyderabad and Secunderabad as its tradition.
Bonalu festival is one of the most popular festivals around, celebratingthe Hindu goddess of time and death, Mahakali. More importantly, it is a festival about the feast, with food plays performed as an honour to the goddess in full grace.Admire and adore this sprightly Bonalu Festival, Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre hosted a Special Brunch on 17th and 24th July 2022. Marigold décor and lively traditional attire for staff as well as a special potharaju performance handed down from generation to generation also took importance.
In celebration of the Bonalu Festival, the intention to showcase the luscious flavours of Hyderabad and Telangana cuisine in traditional clay pots resumed, which started from Prasadam counters like Panakam, Bellam Annam, Pulihora, and Burelu, there will also be Chicken Kaleji Fry, Telangana Kodi Roast, Tawa fish, Mamsam Dum Briyani, and Chepala Pulusu, followed by delicious desserts like Nuvvula Laddu, Sabudanapayasam, Bobbatlu, and many more mouth-watering dishes. Apart from traditional cuisine, we have added Asian, Indian, Western, Dosa, Jonna Roti live stations, and a unique Egg Station with a wide variety of selections along with chat counters.
Mr. Manish Dayya, General Manager of Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre said that the Bonalu feast was specially made by the chefs of Novotel to welcome everyone from Telangana and Hyderabad, with all joy and happiness, by welcoming food enthusiasts to experience the handcrafted menu of regional cuisines from Telangana.
