As the second wave corona has raged through the India. many individuals and associations are stepping forward to help the society and the government to fight against this tough time. Tamil Nadu Hotels Association, Chennai Hotel Association and its members have come forward to to donate nearly 2 crores to the CM Relief Fund.

“When the new govt formed the Chief Minister had put forth a request to contribute funds for helping with the government to fight against corona. We, from our Association and Tamil Nadu Hotel Association decided to come forward to help. We had held state wide discussions and have donated 1.5 crore. Some of our members individually donated 50 lakhs and more. This comes to about 2 crores,” said Chennai Hotel Association, President M Ravi.

This time around the impact has been much severe to that of the last year. Many have been pushed to verge of piled up issues right from financial constraints to a meal a day. There is also an additional situation where they are not able to afford the medical supplies. Chennai Hotel Assocation President M .Ravi , Honarary president : Ramdas Rao , Srinivasa Raja met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin to handed over a cheque for Rs.75 lakh towards the CM Relief Fund.

“This is done for the people. We gave more that 10 lakh people food last year. But this year, the situation was not possible and we decided to give it as money. We want these basic amenities to be made available to the public. This was why we had all decided to step forward and help support the government to ensure the public and the state to get out of this terrible situation,” added M Ravi

From the Tamil Nadu Hotels Association, President M. Venkadasubbu and few other representatives had met with the Chief Minister to give me a cheque of 75 lakhs. Adayar Ananda Bhavan team had met to give the cheque of about 50 lakhs for the fund.

“The government has been working hard to control the second wave which has affected many of us in the State and the Country. The Chief Minister said if only everyone comes forward to help the others, only then we would be able to get through this. We from the Association came forward to with this donation as this we have lived because of the public. We have that social responsibility to maintain. We want to help bring a normal and healthier living back,” said Srinivasa Raja, Managing Director, A2B.

With nearly a century in existence, the association has been working to help the society of hoteliers and the public in times of need. The members are also working individually to help the public during the tough times.
